The Shark series, created by the legendary Japanese studio Toaplan, is a cult shoot 'em up series. Flying Shark (1987), which captivated audiences with its simple rules and perfectly calibrated difficulty, had a considerable impact on vertical-scrolling shoot 'em ups. Its sequel, Fire Shark (1989), set arcade halls ablaze with its devastating arsenal that covered the screen with projectiles!
